Week TWO.... Racing & Turkeys??

The week started out early..... Sunday morning my nieces, their mothers and myself all headed out to watch my brother in a bike race up in Springville, CA. There also was an Apple Festival going on.... Auntie got burned..... the girls played in the back of the truck bed.... and Darren (my brother & now boss .... did I say that??) took FIRST PLACE... in this mountain bike race... well he took it with a friend.... crazy boys .. made sure they rode to the finish line together..... Soon these girls will be riding the circuit too!!

Monday morning I heard stirrings somewhere outside the house... above me... wondering what it was, but not enough to jump out of bed.... I shrugged it off.... got out of bed a little later... coffee... tv time.... shower... getting ready for my afternoon of working on teeth..... and I caught movement out the corner of my eye .... corner of the house roof line... OH MY! Where's my camera! WILD TURKEYS!!! About 20 of them! By the time I got the camera from the other corner of the house they'd jumped off the roof and were wandering along the ditch bank towards poolside then off the property. They must know our family is vegetarian!! Its pretty brave of them to be out in broad daylight this close to Thanksgiving!

Some close ups of these 2 cuties.... This is Have Wiley Rich who's 2! She's expecting a baby sister come January 2008. Although if you ask her about it ... its "mama's baby sister" ... and you can't hold her 'cause she's still growing! Haven goes to the bank with me and to quilt shops. On our last trip to the bank the account manager helping to open my Longaberger account remembered that a baby was coming and asked if the new baby was here ... Haven told her "she's at work with mama"! While I cant find the pics at the moment... Haven's first quilting was helping piece the border of the Heart Quilt I made for The Calico Horse booth at 2007 Road to California. She helped put the pins "on the magget (magnet)" while I was chain piecing the checker boarder.

This is little Ms Cascade Sierra Norton. She's 20 months now... and she's dressing her self.... well at least putting up a fight... this last weekend she picked out and wouldn't leave the house unless she had on her frog rain boots... yes in her cute little dress for church.... Cascade is the one that even at 16 months was helping me finish bindings! Pitching a fit from her carseat vantage point on the return trip from the Idaho wedding when she saw me working on it without her!! So at the next gas station stop we got her out of her seat to help with a few stitches... It's a good thing these two cousins live just across town from each other so they can start learning to "share" before getting siblings.....

Living Quarters....

You've been asking if I'm settling in.... Uhhhhhhh.... Last week I worked and played Auntie... and there's still some stuff to move out of the "little house" ... So I'm still in the "big house".... For those of you that don't know what I mean... I'm moving into a little house on my parent's property (they're in the big house) .. My grandparents had lived in it.. and while the master bed/bathroom is ready for me... the rest of the living part is NOT.... Does anyone need an adjustable twin bed.... two of them?? :) Thus far I've moved in my bed, kitchen table and computer desk.... Oh and set up my phone! Important things.... I know you are wondering about the SEWING ROOM ... well right now I'm quilting at the "big house" ... although I'm thinking of moving it down to my "little house" since it has a better vantage point kitchen table to tv..... Settled pictures may be a month out....

My First Delivery!

Nothing says WELCOME like having a package waiting for you... I'd gotten an email right before moving and had ordered this little gem... couldnt resist!!! Its from my favorite stop when visiting friends in the Portland, OR area..... Fabric Depot!!! Lucky me I can find them online when the plane trip for the little things would be ridiculous.... My chubby tabletop ironing board is sooo cute!

From the Summer...

The camera cord I carefully made sure to pack where I knew I'd find it.... turns out not to be MINE!!! Sooo there's a little delay with photos....

Starting out my nieces early with a love for quilting ... when they're not fighting over my thimble... they do enjoy it for a little bit.... Here's Cascade helping with binding... Look out Cheryl!!

Right after working on the binding for that wedding quilt over the week of July 4th .... and attending 2 more weddings for the summer wedding marathon.... it was Haven's 2nd birthday.... We tried to teach her "I'm 2 on August 2".. But even now when you ask her how old she is ... she's "August 2"! Nothing like an Auntie trying to do ONE MORE THING.... I put on my baking hat... while they wouldnt quite make a "52 Cupcakes" entry .. it was fun....

Haven's little cake was just right for her! A little 6" chocolate cake made into a field of chocolate flowers in cream cheese grass!! The cake held the candles for her to blow out.... several times.... Some how the cupcakes didnt make it onto my pics... they were cupcakes each with its own flower! A big hit.... I'm not sure how long Auntie will be able to make things still impressing them for their birthdays....

Safe & Sound

Well I've made it.... safe thru Newhall ... wouldnt have even know there had been such an accident except for the news vans & their cameras/lights on the side of the road....

Still some things to do in my "little house" before moving in... so right now I'm residing at the "big house"

Today's the day...

Its finally packing day... the family is coming to help.... eventually it will all be in motion.... am I ready for them.. NOPE :)

So I thought I'd post one last procrastination posting from the IE before signing off till next week with pics of the new place... and the nieces.....

Well here it is... just setting it up..... and yes its another procrastination technique in my packing to move!! Ok... back to packing...
